Social Media Iceberg

Social Media Marketing is like an Iceberg, there is so much more involved than what you initially see.

Social Media, Marketing, Iceberg

Most people think it is just a bunch of playing around and chatting. What they don’t see and don’t understand is what it really takes to have an effective social media program, the planning, strategy, content management, community growth. It is really a lot of work when done right, but the results speak for themselves.

Chill OUT! Social Media Marketing Should Be…

Just a little clue for you, your social media marketing should be fun. Don’t let it be so serious!

Some of the best content and conversations that lead to relationships is humorous. Be human and have a little fun with your social media management. Loosen up like this chillin dog! :-)

Say What? Social Media Results?

I know, I know. Crazy right?

Though social media marketing and social media management should be fun, it really must have a plan and strategy that gets results.

Social Media Ant Farm

Often times people try to take on too much with their social media marketing. You can learn something from ants…

Take one piece at a time. Once you have that under control and manageable, then start on a new thing. Just like an ant farm. They never try to do it all at once.

There are two things required in social media.

1) Time  - If you’re not willing to invest the time, just like ants do, you will not be effective.

2) Knowledge – You need to have the knowledge of what to do, when and where. Social Media Marketing is not a place to experiment. When ants experiment, they all die.

If you need help, ask someone who knows (and not your kid or the friend at church that is on Facebook).  Better yet, hire an agency to do it right from day one. I bet Ants wish they could do that.  You can!

A Social Media Ticket

If this original picture wasn’t funny enough before it became a social graphic, I actually took this picture myself while at the park with the kids this last weekend. Yes this literally happened. This cop pulled over this Ya-hoo driving his lawn mower.

That got me thinking…  If we could just get them to ticket the social media equivalent for the stupid things they do in their social media marketing. Enjoy the laugh, I sure did!

We Used To Get Carpel Tunnel

If you are a social media professional, you know what I’m saying…

The smartphone is a crucial part of our business. As we deal with social media management, it is important to respond quickly, and that doesn’t mean you are always at your computer.

This Flower…

I was frustrated the other day when I saw this flower in the front yard and snapped a pic.

Thinking about the flower I realized, I am a tad bit more complex that it is. I may take just a tad bit longer to fully bloom. Your social media marketing might too.

Ignoring Social Media Is Like Winning A Losing Battle

Do you think either of these two are winning?

If you ignore social media, or worse are ineffective or doing social media marketing wrong, there is trouble ahead for you.

Social Media Is Planting Trees

It’s pretty simple. Plant, water and take care of them consistently and they grow.

Your social media management should be the same way. Marketing within the social graph is straight forward, but requires consistent, proper effort and care. Relationships grow over time…

Social Media – Working For Peanuts

If you are doing social media marketing for peanuts, you’re doing something wrong.

We should all love what we do, but need to ensure our Agency pricing and/or our compensation is appropriate for the job we do in this space. We provide only two things 1) Our knowledge/skill  2) Our time.  Be sure your pricing is in line with these two factors.
